Yesterday, Dan's family came out to the farm and we hung out talking and eating. Great Grampa gets a kick out of the farm, I think and everyone seems to love it. That make Dan and I happy. I made potato salad using our eggs, celery and onion. We had carrots out of our garden as well. We picked a few grapes off the arbor and they are yummy - although sparse. Betty and I were walking through the watermelons and I'm showing her how they didn't grow. She wanted to see what they looked like, well - as it turned out, I had planted Baby Watermelon and they were ready to eat! (lots of seeds though) Abby and I will refridgerate one today and eat a whole, chilled one later! We had a beautiful day to enjoy - only thing missing was Betsy, Daniel & my side of the family. I will see them all soon though, and the thought warms my heart.
Tomorrow begins Abby's full out schedule. In addition to school each day we have something : Mon. - piano & science with a friend, Tues. - swimming, Wed. - gym, art & choir classes then youth group in the evening, Thur. - swimming, and Fri. - gym. Her baby rabbits that were born on Aug. 1st., are darling (Flopsy & Mopsy) but are, sadly, not competition or breeding quality - so time to find new homes soon. Would love to find her a chocolate colored doe for breeding with Hershey. Fence guy just called - wants to start on Friday, and Dan may want to go to auction on Wed. the 14th so we may yet have cows when my family comes for the wedding. - can't wait!
